Overview of the Department

The Department of Woodwork Technology focuses on developing technical and artistic skills in the design, construction, and finishing of wooden products and furniture. It trains learners to become competent wood technicians capable of performing wood machining, furniture making, joinery, and finishing works using both traditional hand tools and modern woodworking machinery.
The department emphasizes competency-based training, occupational safety, and sustainable utilization of forest resources.

Woodwork Workshop – fitted with hand tools, power tools, and modern machinery
Machine Room – for operating saws, planers, routers, and thicknessers
Furniture and Joinery Workshop – for assembly, carving, and finishing practice
Finishing and Polishing Room – for painting, staining, and varnishing exercises
Material Store and Timber Yard – for handling, seasoning, and storage of wood materials

Certification & Duration

Level I – IV (TVET) or Diploma in the field of wood work technology
Certification: National TVET Certificate awarded by CoC (Certificate of Competence) after assessment
Duration:
- Regular (Day) Program: 1–2 years depending on level
- Extension(Night or Weekend) Program: 2–3 years (part-time) depending on level

Short-term Courses:- few days to 3 months (skill upgrading or specialization)
